The annual Byron Scott Youth Basketball Camp has run strong for over twenty years, and this year’s camp was an absolute success as it was hosted at Fullerton College’s own Hornets Nest Gym.

A close friend of Scott’s, former Hornet player and coach Andre Smith helped bring the camp to the Fullerton College Gym where it ran for five days (August 10-14).

126 boys and girls (ages 8-17) signed up for the camp that featured Coach Scott with over 20 experienced coaches who came to share their knowledge of the game. The camp’s main focus is learning fundamentals the Laker “Showtime” way. Eating healthy, proper training, personal discipline are all a big part of the camp curriculum, along with a strong emphasis on proper defensive techniques.

Making appearances at the all-day camp was Laker Assistant Coach Mark Madsen along with Laker players Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and Nick Young.

“Fullerton College is a great location for the camp as it is intimate enough for us to work one-on-one with the kids. The college has been very accommodating and we would love to keep coming back for years to come”, said Head Coach Byron Scott, Los Angeles Lakers.
