Marcia Foster Accepted to Prestigious NCBAA Leadership Development Institute
Congratulations to Senior Coordinator of Athletics Marcia Foster who was accepted into the prestigious National Council for Black American Affairs (NCBAA) Carolyn Grubbs Williams Leadership Development Institute that will take place Oct. 15 – 20 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Foster has been a faculty member in the Department of Physical Education at Fullerton College since 2013 and was recently selected to lead two department committees, Gender Equity in Athletics and Athletic Facilities, as the Senior Coordinator of Athletics.
The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) is designed for African American Mid-Level Administrators at community colleges. Participants of LDI will be completely immersed in leadership activities and will participate in focused dialogue on community college issues pertaining to leadership, ethics, diversity and inclusiveness, global awareness, technology, and institutional change and development.
The curriculum is based on the AACC Competencies for Community College Leaders (Third Edition, 2018). These competencies include organizational strategy, institutional finance, research, fundraising, resource management, communication, collaboration, and community college advocacy.
