Sociology Club Leads with Acts of Service
The Sociology Club has been busy supporting the community with acts of service this spring. During the month of April, they held a towel collection and collected more than 100 new towels for The Women’s Transitional Living Center in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. They also sorted through thousands of birthday cards for a local veteran whose only wish on his 96th birthday was to receive a few cards.
Dwayne Sherman received more than 50,000 birthday cards from all over the world and the Sociology Club was there to help him sort and read through the cards. Sherman’s story was shared at https://youtu.be/PH33_mlQTjw. The goal of Sociology Club is to raise awareness, educate and serve the campus and local community.
