The Arts are Back at Fullerton College

Fullerton College is lifting the stage curtains and reopening the art gallery doors as a variety of in-person Fine Arts activities return after a long hiatus brought on by the pandemic. A combination of 13 events within the Fine Arts Division will be featured over the next few weeks, including theatre arts, musical performances, and art exhibitions.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of Shakespeare’s most familiar and funniest comedies, will debut on Nov. 18 at the Bronwyn Dodson Theatre. The historic play, which centers around the passions of love, order/disorder, gender identity, the supernatural and dreams will host performances Nov. 18 through Dec. 4. In addition, the Fullerton College Music Department will present a variety of shows starting Nov. 17 through Dec. 9. Featured performances include a Symphony Concert on Nov. 17; the Men’s and Women’s Chorale Concert on Nov. 18; Brass Ensemble Concert also Nov. 18; Percussion Ensemble on Nov. 22; Woodwind Concert on Nov. 23; Jazz Bands and VJ- Friends of Jazz Concert on Nov. 30; Symphonic Winds Concert on Dec. 2; Applied Piano Recital on Dec. 3; Electronic Music Concert on Dec. 6, and the Holiday Band and Choral Concert on Dec. 9. The Fullerton College Art Department is also currently presenting two art exhibits. The Land as Kin exhibit preserves and honors the traditional Native caretakers of our land through artistic endeavors. This exhibit runs through Dec. 31 while a second exhibit titled Figure Ground: Selections from the Fullerton College Art Collection is featured at the FC Art Gallery through Nov. 23. This exhibition of work focuses on the human form and landscape, while examining the way artists utilize the figure-ground relationship. For more information visit the Art Gallery website.
