Two FC Students Awarded Scholarship to Study Abroad
Two Fullerton College students have been selected to receive the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to study abroad during the spring 2017 term. Arturo Contreras and Zana Gurule will study abroad in Rome, Italy this coming spring.
Contreras and Gurule are two out of 850 American undergraduate students from colleges and universities across the U.S. who will receive the Gilman scholarship. Gilman scholars receive up to $5,000 to apply toward their study abroad or internship program costs. The program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad. The Study Abroad Program provides students at Fullerton and Cypress colleges the opportunity to study in a foreign location that will promote a global perspective for effective living and working in an international environment.
