What’s the Buzz at the Student Center?
The Student Center located in Building 200, Room 214 is a place for students to unwind and interact with fellow students while enjoying some of the activities and amenities available such as board games, a pool table, air hockey, charging stations, a television and PlayStation, and more. To add to the mix of fun this spring, Student Activities has planned a variety of activities and events to keep students engaged in the fun.
With a new PlayStation in the Student Center comes the Madden Tournament. Students will have the chance to compete over the course of two to three days to be named champion. The first round of the tournament began Feb. 19. Participants who make it through round one will return on Feb. 26 for round two. Championships will take place on Mar. 5 where the top three players will receive a generous prize.
“We want to do seasonal tournaments to incorporate other sports like baseball and football,” said lead student assistant Victor Corrales. “A fighting tournament is another we would like to add since we have games such as Tekken and Marvel vs. Capcom.”
Also at the Student Center, the Cadena Cultural and Transfer Center will host their highly anticipated and annual Open Mic Night on Feb. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. This year marks their eleventh year hosting the event which features poets, musicians and singers sharing their talents with the Fullerton College community.
Lastly, the competitions won’t end there as Student Activities will also host a Pool Tournament beginning Mar. 12. Sign-ups are $5 dollars and will be available until the tournament begins.
All events are open to everyone on campus including faculty, staff and students. For more information, visit activities.fullcoll.edu or call (714) 992-7086.
