Women’s Herstory Month: Celebrating Women and Their Stories in March
In honor of Women’s Herstory Month and International Women’s Day, several groups across Fullerton College are hosting events and activities that honor and recognize the important role women make in communities locally and across the globe. From inspirational stories of resilience to empowering testimonies of compassionate leadership, this month is all about telling the stories of the women throughout history who have tirelessly and courageously fought against injustices, advocated for equality, and have shown great leadership in support of all women.
Right here at Fullerton College, students have the opportunity year-round to dive deep into these stories by enrolling in Women’s Studies courses. They can also learn about the histories of women of color through a variety of Ethnic Studies classes, and the Cadena Cultural Center leads workshops and conversations to promote and support awareness of gender identity. In addition, many student support programs such as EOPS and Outreach host a variety of conferences and workshops specifically designed for young women who are pursuing higher education.
The Cadena Cultural Center will offer several activities throughout the month of March. Fullerton College will also be sharing a variety of stories on social media and on the Fullerton College News Center, and the Office of Campus Communications has designed a Women’s Herstory Zoom background to use throughout the month.
