Fullerton College Reimagines Transfer with Future Titan Center

Fullerton College recently made history with the grand opening of its Future Titan Center, located in Building 1900, Room 1955. In partnership with California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), the Future Titan Center proudly provides students with the dedicated support for a seamless transfer from Fullerton College to Cal State Fullerton, offer expanded access to the university’s representatives and more.

“The Future Titan Center symbolizes our vision for Fullerton College’s future to build partnerships that bring students’ dreams within reach. Through our collaboration with Cal State Fullerton, we are creating a more seamless path from starting as a Hornet to becoming a Titan, earning a bachelor’s degree and pursuing a meaningful career that opens doors to financial freedom,” said Fullerton College President Cynthia Olivo.

The grand opening began with a reception and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing at the Cruz Reynoso Courtyard, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony solidifying the continuation of an exciting partnership between campus partners.

Remarks were also shared by Director of the Transfer Center at Fullerton College, Cecilia Arriaza, Associate Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management at CSUF, Dr. Jessica Barco, Fullerton College President Dr. Cynthia Olivo and CSUF President, Dr. Ronald Rochon. Fullerton College alumni and Cal State Fullerton transfer students, Elyas Khalid and Jazmin Mendez, also inspired the crowd with their stories.

Elyas Khalid shares remarks about overcoming adversity as a business student from Afghanistan. A proud Hornet, he honors his Fullerton College roots as the place that shaped his success, confidence and life.

After remarks, attendees were invited to tour the center while a resource fair took place, providing photo and networking opportunities with Cal State Fullerton’s resources.

The resource fair gave Fullerton College students an early sense of the campus resources available to them at CSUF.

“The Future Titan Center represents a new model for transfer by breaking down the traditional barriers between community colleges and universities,” said Arriaza. “Rather than waiting until students transfer to introduce them to university resources and hope that they figure out how to navigate the transition on their own, we are bringing those resources to them earlier in their journey. This approach can strengthen transfer readiness, increase students’ sense of belonging and create smoother transitions that ultimately support their success.”

A powerful extension of the Transfer Center’s contributions, The Future Titan Center will bring CSUF directly to students through on-campus access to university services and resources. Students will be able to connect with Financial Aid, learn about academic and support programs and build relationships with faculty and staff before stepping foot on the university’s campus. By cultivating connections and familiarity early, students will arrive at the university with greater confidence, a stronger sense of belonging and an adept understanding of how to navigate this new environment.

“This is a path toward educational liberation – removing barriers so students have the support, opportunities and freedom to shape their own futures.” said President Olivo.
