National First-Generation College Student Week
Fullerton College will host its third annual National First-Generation College Student Week from Nov. 4-8, 2024. The celebration will feature activities and events organized by the Division of Counseling and Student Development in collaboration with athletics, the Puente Program, the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Resource Center, Student Life and Leadership, the Promise program and Transfer Center.
Each year on Nov. 8, colleges and universities across the nation observe National First-Generation College Student Day and host various activities and events throughout the week. This important day marks the anniversary of the Higher Education Act of 1965, signed by President Lyndon Johnson, which guaranteed access to higher education and financial support for all individuals.
