Pride Month at Fullerton College
Fullerton College will celebrate Pride Month in June with a series of programs and events hosted by the LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Program. Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend these events and join our campus in recognizing the history, struggles and successes of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Honoring the Life of Fullerton College Student, Caleb Strouss
Fullerton College honors the life of Caleb Strouss, a student, veteran and Hornet family member who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident.
Caleb was in the last few weeks of completing his Administration of Justice degree and transferring to Cal State Fullerton. He served our county as a Marine and wanted to continue his service to his community as a police officer. It is with great pride that Fullerton College welcomed his mother and sister to honor his memory with a posthumous degree.

Rising Scholars and Ethnic Studies Department Host First-Ever End of Year Celebration
The Rising Scholars Program and Ethnic Studies Department recently held its first-ever end of year celebration, honoring ethnic studies majors and formerly incarcerated graduates with a special breakfast, networking session and heartfelt advice. Congratulations, graduates!
Friends of Fullerton College Foundation Scholarship Ceremony Honors Students
The Friends of Fullerton College Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony recently honored our scholarship recipients at the end of year celebration. Our Alumni of the Year, Dr. Lupillo Ramírez, was also in attendance with our Board of Trustees to inspire and congratulate our students.
Transfer Celebration Celebrates Next Chapter Ahead
The Transfer Celebration recently honored students who have received transfer admission offers with a special celebration in the Campus Theatre. At the celebration, graduates crossed the stage and received a medal while sharing their next venture with the world. We couldn’t be prouder, Hornets!
Fullerton College Featured in Season 14 of “The College Tour” Now on Amazon Prime Video
Fullerton College is featured in season 14 of “The College Tour”, a groundbreaking series from Emmy-nominated producers Alex Boylan, Lisa Hennessy and Burton Roberts, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Hosted by “The Amazing Race” winner Alex Boylan, “The College Tour” travels the c. try telling the story of each college and university through the diverse lens of its students, giving the viewer an intimate portrayal of life on campus. Inspiring and motivating, the show serves as a vehicle to help students across the world connect with higher education, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future without having to travel anywhere.
Classified Senate Appreciation Week Invites Special Guests
Last week, Classified Senate hosted a series of exciting events in recognition of the hard work our classified staff do to ensure Fullerton College thrives. The events included a classified luncheon, where our managers served staff tacos, a casino and drag bingo day and an ice cream sundaes and stress relief activity.
Success at the Starfish and Navigate360 Symposium
Fullerton College recently hosted the Starfish and Navigate360 User Group Symposium (SNUGS), a gathering of community college educators from across California who use these platforms to support student success initiatives. President Cynthia Olivo kicked off the conference with a keynote highlighting how the Student Advocate team is using Starfish to connect with students to impact retention and persistence. Participants also heard general sessions on Vision Aligned Reporting requirements and implementation of Early Alert via Starfish, as well as a variety of breakout sessions featuring local colleges that are using the technology in innovative ways to collect data and respond with intentional student supports. Our Fullerton College colleagues in attendance came away from the event with new ideas and connections to inform their work.
Computer Information Systems Department Shares Exciting Milestones
The Computer Information Systems (CIS) Department recently completed a report highlighting the work, achievements and positive impacts they have cultivated over the 2024-25 academic year.
From visiting local high schools to establishing an eSports club and publishing a book, the following faculty members have been hard at work bolstering student outreach and engagement:

Dance Instructor Walks Radio City Music Hall for Graduation
Adjunct Instructor of Dance, Valerie Cabag, recently graduated with distinction for her master’s degree in dance and movement therapy from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. During her graduation, she had the honor of walking at Radio City Music Hall. Congratulations, Valerie!
