Teacher Pathway Program Hosts Teaching Matters Conference

The Fullerton College Teacher Pathway Program hosted the fourth annual Teaching Matters Conference on Saturday, Feb. 29. Approximately 40 students from Fullerton Joint Union, Anaheim and Placentia-Yorba Linda High School Districts were in attendance.

The conference provided students with an opportunity to connect with Child Development faculty and learn about working with young children. High school students explored lesson planning with Teacher Pathway STEM students and were taught classroom management techniques by a Fullerton School District teacher. The participants also gained valuable insight from current Fullerton College Teacher Pathway students and about EOPS and Financial Aid programs.

“This conference is always a very intentional event geared towards students who have a genuine interest in a career in education,” said Teacher Pathway Program Director Monica Martin. “Most of these students will likely be applying to the fall 2020 Teacher Pathway Program cohort.”
