The quad will soon be filled with the sound of live music performances, the smell of good food, and Coachella vibes as Quadchella returns for the fourth year. Hosted by Associated Students and Student Activities, Quadchella takes place on Tuesday, March 12 from 5-9 p.m. and features a lineup that includes current students, faculty, alumni, and local artists.
“Quadchella is an exciting opportunity for students to hear and enjoy live music in the quad of their campus,” said student services specialist Stephanie Rodriguez. “We have had it for a couple of years now and it has been successful, but we’re now hoping to dial it up a notch.”
Based on the popular music festival Coachella, the popular campus event consistently grows in size each year. This year’s event will include a lineup of more than 10 performances with most of the artists performing their original music. Performers include RAMEKEGA, a California-based alternative band, and established rapper TuiDaShark. English professor Brandon Floerke will also be back on the Quadchella stage to perform with his band Stuffed Animal Baby.
To get festival-goers in theme, the Trendsetter Club will manage a station in the quad during the music event to provide services such as hair braids and chalk to students for free. A taco buffet will also be provided to attendees, which include a station for guacamole, salsa, and more.
This year, the Quadchella Artwalk is introduced to provide Fullerton College art students an opportunity to showcase their work in the heart of the college. Easels and pedestals will be provided to those who wish to participate.
Along with the live performances and art, the quad will hold vendors, club booths, and a beach volleyball net for those who want to have some fun.
