Veterans Week 2024
Fullerton College will celebrate Veterans Week from Nov. 4-9, culminating in the observance of Veterans Day on Nov. 11. This week-long event is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of our veterans and military-connected students who have bravely served our nation.
Join us in honoring veterans at our upcoming events hosted by the Veterans Resource Center.
Veterans Golf Classic
Monday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m.
The Veterans Resource Center will host its sixth annual golf classic at Eagle Glen Golf Club. This golf tournament will raise funds to support Fullerton College military-connected students, with all proceeds going directly to student scholarships, emergency funds and the Veterans Resource Center. Special Display of Historical Aircraft
Nov. 5 – 6
The Veterans Resource Center will display a decommissioned Huey helicopter in the Fullerton College quad. The community will be able to learn about the aircraft’s history, including its role in rescue missions and during the Vietnam War, and have an opportunity to sit inside the cockpit for a photo.
Chess Tournament
Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m.
The chess tournament returns to the Veterans Resource Center for another year of fun competition. The event is open to all Fullerton College students and the winner will have their name added to the tournament trophy, which will be showcased at the Veterans Resource Center throughout the year.
Movie Screening
Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m.
Relax, build camaraderie and enjoy snacks. Join us in the Veterans Resource Center to watch a military-themed movie selected by our student-veterans.
Veterans Appreciation Lunch
Wednesday, Nov. 6 at noon
The annual Veterans Appreciation Lunch, hosted at the Veterans Resource Center, welcomes all those who have or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. This event aims to reunite our community of veterans for an afternoon of breaking bread and exchanging military stories.
Paint and Pizza
Thursday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
Do you love to paint? The Veterans Resource Center and Student Life and Leadership invite you to the Student Center for a fun painting session led by professional artists, along with complimentary pizza. Register to RSVP.
Fullerton College vs Cypress College Softball Game
Friday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m.
Join us for the NOCCCD annual Veterans Resource Center rivalry softball game at the Fullerton College softball field. Come cheer for your fellow Hornets as they battle for the title against the Cypress College Chargers. Veterans or military-connected students are invited to play. Fullerton College vs Saddleback College Football Game
Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.
Fullerton College will be hosting its first ever Military Appreciation Game Day at Sherbeck Field. All Fullerton College students and veterans with proof of military service will receive free admission to the football game, which will feature giveaways, a color guard performance and more. Come cheer for the Fullerton College football team and honor our military veterans. Kickoff is at noon.
