End-of-year Celebrations Kick-off
It’s that time of year when Fullerton College gets ready to celebrate student achievements and graduates at a variety of end-of-year celebrations. The Promise Program and Veterans Resource Center held celebrations on April 29 in honor of graduating and transferring students, and many more program celebrations are expected over the next few weeks leading up to commencement on May 21.
The entire campus community is encouraged to participate in these upcoming celebrations, ongoing through May 20
Honoring Transfers
The Transfer Center is hosting its annual Transfer Celebration a little differently this year by honoring 2022 transfers with the “Honoring Transfer” medals and “Look Who’s Transferring” Instagram campaign. The deadline to submit a request for these services is May 20.
Promise Center Drop-in Celebration
The Promise Center held a celebration on April 29 for students who are graduating with degrees, certificates, and/or transferring to a university. Students may stop by any time to pick up a Promise Program graduation sash and other goodies.
Faculty of the Year Reception – May 5
Associated Students will honor this year’s Faculty of the Year, Professor Deidre Hughes, and the 2022 finalists with a reception on May 5 at 12 p.m. at the Student Center patio, Room 214. Additionally, Faculty of the Year professors for 2020 and 2021, Amber Rose Gonzalez (2020) and Jodi Balma (2021) will also be honored.
Students of Distinction – May 6
Twenty students, who have demonstrated outstanding achievement at Fullerton College, have been announced as the recipients of the 2022 Students of Distinction Award. They will be recognized and honored at a ceremony on Friday, May 6 at 5 p.m. sponsored by the Office of Student Life and Leadership. Read more about Students of Distinction.
LGBTQIA2S+ Graduate Celebration – May 10
The Cadena Cultural Center and LGBTQIA2S+ advocates are honoring graduates with special swag and snacks to celebrate. Students may swing to Room 512 on May 10 between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 5 – 7 p.m. to say hello and pick up free items.
CARE, CalWorks, FYSI Programs Recognition Celebration – May 10
This special event will recognize and celebrate all students that have participated in CARE, CalWORKs, and/or FYSI Programs this academic year. Students may visit the CalWORKs Office located at 315 N. Pomona Ave., Fullerton for a celebration on May 10 at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. A gift bag and light refreshments will be provided.
Umoja Community Program Graduation & Award Celebration – May 12
The Umoja Community Program is excited to celebrate this year’s graduates and transfers at a celebration on May 12 in Room 1903-04. For details email umoja@fullcoll.edu.
Teacher Pathway Program End of Year Celebration – May 14
Fullerton College Educational Partnerships and the Teacher Pathway Program will celebrate the end of the academic year and the accomplishments of students on Saturday, May 14 on the quad. For more info email eadakai@fullcoll.edu
Honors Program Celebration – May 20
The Honors Program will be celebrating graduating students on Friday, May 20 at 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. on the Quad. Graduates may stop by to pick up Honors certificates and medallions and stay to decorate graduation caps and take photos.
